Open rates are highest (50%) immediately after someone subscribes to your email list (Invesp)!!
It doesn't matter how many hours you spend perfecting your copy, you only have a few seconds to communicate. 💌
- 30% of emails are looked at for less than 2 seconds💌
- 41% are looked at for between 2-8 seconds💌
- 29% are looked at for more than 8 seconds (thanks, Litmus)
So then. What is your email saying? How are you saying it?
I reference Mike Duerksen 👋 in the video. This week, he talked about "radically simple fundraising emails" in his newsletter (get on his list: https://lnkd.in/gC56fGpj)
What about images in emails? We know images can boost response rates IF (and only if) they are interpreted as relevant to the message (42% lift, Vergo). Gone are the days of stuffy stock photography.
Also, faces perform very well. One test showed a 35% lift when swapping out a stock photo for the CEO (MarketingSherpa).
I review and audit an email sent by the big-hearted Mark Groves and his wife Kylie. Just finished his new book 😍 . His copy is better than most. But there is so much I would like to do to make it perform better. I'd love to know what you find working for you!
